A/C recirc question
Hiya
Today it got really hot outside so I had the A/C on full blast.... playing with the controls, I hit the recirc button. Its been a long time since I hit that button and the last time I did, I *think* I remember a distinct change in the way the air came out -- ie. stronger and louder. Do I remember correctly or am I just confusing this with other cars that I've owned?? When I hit my recirc button now, there is no change in the strength or the sound of the air coming out of my vents.
On another "I think I remember" note... the gas filler tube... I swear there was a spring loaded flapper that covered the actual orfice of the tube where you actually put the pump nozzle in. I just noticed that there isnt one... Again, am I confused??
fawk, i must be getting old or the droogs are finally messing with my head
kind thanks.

Turning on the recirculating button should make the air pressure higher as it closes off the outside vents.
As for the gas filler tube plate, this was discussed awhile ago and apparently the 5th gens have lost this again. Probably one of the reasons it is so critical to keep the gas cap on tight (although clearly the little filler flap is not to make it air tight).
