HELP -- can't get rstb on easily

hi i have a 01 maxima SE and i have a rstb, and i searched on this forum and i see pmas76 has done an install on his 02 maxima and it seemed easy to him. but i was wondering if there is a difference on the two cars. in the 01 there is a black cover guarding the strut tower and its hard to get to the inside screw especially, i was wondering if any of you guys have done it and have pictures, or if you removed the black bracket.

thanks any help is appreciated.

Maybe I can help...

First off, you need to remove the black ring from the to of the strut tower. This is no longer needed when you are installing a RSTB. Secondly, in order to get the nuts on the two posts you will need a 14mm socket (If my memory is correct) and a 6 inch extenstion to reach the nut in the back (the onew that is furthest away from you). It does become a slight pain in the **** getting the bar attached to the brackets once they are in place. I would suggest putting the brackets on the two strut towers loosely and then playing with it till you can get the bar attached. Patience is a vertue. It takes some time getting the postioning right but it will happen. If you still need help email me or post another question in this thread. Hope this helped.

done

its ok now, i just did it the hard way and removed the black brackets, it was a pain in the *** , but it was worth it, combine with the FSTB and the RSB, the car handles very well now, you can definitely feel the difference, especially on hard turns and at high speeds.
