I'm really bumming about how uncomfortable the drivers seat is in my new 2003 Max on a long drive. I'm a road warrior (salesman for 25 years) and these seats are the most uncomfortable I have experienced. Any suggestions on modifying the foam cushioning to make the seat back just a little less firm and a bit more concave so my back doesn"t hurt so much? I can feel the "ribs" in the seat back. Can I remove the rear panel of the seat back and modify/remove some foam or felt? I really don't want to replace the front seats or strap on some cheezy looking cushion. HELP!

 

I've seen these ads in the back of car mags for a neoprene seat cover. Perhaps that might give you the start of an answer. You could probably get foam inserts and glue them into the liner.

 

its good you didn't get the 2000/2001...cuz the seats there are a little bit firmer. in the 2k2/2k3 they made it more luxrious and softer and less sporty.

 

I definately agree with the seats being unconfortable. I don't mind the overall confort. But the lack of lateral support drives me insane! I have leather, so that probably makes it worse. I have always driven mustang's, and while they aren't the best handling cars out there, the lateral support was leagues ahead.

The seats are really my only complaint about my 2k2 that I haven't already corrected myself.
