door chime

I searched for this but only 4th gen's came up. I think the 5th gen are different. Anyone know how to disable the annoying door chime. Couldn't find a fuse.
Thanks

ESM

is not clear as there are 3 fuses mentioned when it comes to chimes.

Here is what it says:

The warning chime is controlled by the smart entrance control unit.
The warning chime is located in the smart entrance control unit.
Power is supplied at all times
I through 10A fuse [No. 13, located in fuse block (J/B)]
I to smart entrance control unit terminal 49 and
I to key switch terminal 2 (M/T) or 3 (A/T)
I through 10A fuse (No. 60, located in the fuse and fusible link box)
I to tail lamp relay terminals 1 and 3.
With the ignition switch in the ON or START position, power is supplied
I through 10A fuse [No. 10, located in the fuse block (J/B)]
I to smart entrance control unit terminal 27.
Ground is supplied to smart entrance control unit terminals 43 and 64 through body grounds M9, M25 and
M87.
When a signal, or combination of signals, is received by the smart entrance control unit, the warning chime
will sound.
Hope this helps.

I think it may be as simple as cutting the wires to the little piezo speaker. I think it is located on the dash behind/beneath the windshield washer lever. Look for 3 tiny vents. Go up under the dash and snip the wires to the speaker.

ajahearn, I have no idea what any of that meant.......

It seems as though the beep comes from the lower right area, behind the dash. I am able to look up there while laying down on the drivers floor. There is some kind of box with a hole in it. I disconnected it and found out that it wasn't it. Other than that box, I can't find anything else that could possibly be making the chime. I can't believe nissan made it this damn hard to find......I'm surprised more people have not tried to disconnect it....

Remember, as opposed to actual speakers, limited note chimes can be VERY small indeed...like enough to hide in 'muscial' greeting cards etc. and we know how loud those little buggers can be.

If I read the above correctly, it seems that the chime module is actually inside the entry control unit, so you may need to do surgery to get to it...

I was surpeised to hear that chime when I got my 2k2. Honda has used that same chime since the mid 80's!! I even have a digital timer at home that sounds like it!

Sorry, the stuff I appended was from the service manual. It details what fuses are used to control the chime.
