Cheap Lowering Springs

Cheap Lowering Springs
Very basic question that no one ever addressed in the past that I don't quite understand:
Why are springs such as H&R and Eibach almost twice the cost as springs such as Progress and Maxspeed?
Besides the amount of inches they lower the ride and stiffness, what is the main difference? Does it mean that the H&R's and Eibach's are much better because they are more expensive or does it mean that they last longer? Or are you just paying for the name? It seems to me that a spring is a spring...Please clarify.

Personally, I am ecstatic with my Progress Springs.

pricing
It's going to be a matter of demand. Eibach's have a reputation that they can show. How much of the cost actually translates into a better product is subject of debate. I chose Eibach's because of reputation and because I was looking for a firm ride (which is at least why some people don't choose them). Probably the cheapest place you will find springs is used. The question you have to ask yourself is if it's worth installing cheap springs in a $20K> car.

I would say that they spent a huge amount of money on R&D and manufacturing equipment.....they have to get it back Their price is high for a reason.....that's why ground control choose their product....
weird thing is....sportsline are cheaper than the prokits. thought it is the highend product of eibach.

My momma told me to always shop wisely - I baught a Maxima
You get what you pay for.
H&R, Eibach, they have been making springs for high end cars for quite some time. Over in Germany where you can travel the autobon at speeds well over 100MPH, most high end cars such as Benz, BMW ect.. are running H&R & Eibach springs. I'm pretty sure the AMG package on Benz use H&R for their suspension setups. H&R is very popular in Germany and they know how to drive over there!

Maxspeed springs are just a smaller company that is not ripping off enthusiast.
It is like taking a generic prescription over the name brand!! Same result less money.
"The question you have to ask yourself is if it's worth installing cheap springs in a $20K> car." I did and I have no problems!! My springs and the install were still $50 less than the eibachs alone. From what I hear, I would never use eibachs because a lot of people say that they are rough!!
But everyone has their own opinion, so just buy what you feel is best for you.

Hey Andy, did your clunking noise stop since we removed those braces.

But I am still happy with the overall ride. I just have to find a decent suspension shop that can find what the hell is going on.
