Help with loss at new elevation

My wife just moved my car out to Colorado, from Delaware. Don't ask, I am not happy about it. But she said that the cars seems quite sluggish, way more than she expected, and she knows there would be a loss at elevation. I know you loose about 10% hp for every 5000ft in elevation or there about.

The problem being I wont be out with my car again for another two and half weeks. Unfortunately, i am relying on her judgement. So my questions are....

should i just have her disconnect the battery to reset the ECU?

will it correct itself???

should i have it re-tuned by nissan or other???

or is there something else i am missing?

I asked this to the Nissan service guy, who said it will self adjust, but we all know not to trust them and what the hell do they know on the east coast about nissans at a mile high?

thanks in advance

Theres less oxygen so you're going to have less power. Mod it or get some sort of forced induction.

You'll lose 10% for every 3000 ft in elevation

not every 5000. At Denver altitude you're making about 18% less HP than at sea level..grin and bear it -or get a supercharger....

Yeah, elevation sucks. I had a fuel injected bike in Albuquerque, NM. Elevation there is around 5-6000 ft. I could barely get it to wheelie. When I moved to Portland, OR I nearly flipped it over. The gain was amazing. Seemed way more than 10%.

Maxima Dan...it was indeed more than 10%

u gained in moving to Portland..it was like 20% if u came down from 6k feet -plus the 'air' is usually really good here -as in cool and crisp.

Trust me....I fly single-engine airplanes...i KNOW about 'density altitude'...one learns quick when trying to take off from Sun River on a hot day in summer at close to max gross weight...interesting indeed

I LOVE OREGON!!!!!!!!!!!!

well I have a berk intake on it, I hope that it will help with the volume of air.

New issue being that she called tonight to let me know that it idled very roughly after starting it this afternoon. She of course reved it and then it went away. I was wondering if there might need to be a air fuel issue due to the intake?

i just saved $3 towards a new supercharger, only $3500 to go.
