I've heard it does not, unless you want to cut.

Courtesy just came out with FSTB that is half the price of a Stillen, looks like the Street Beat one, too: http://www.courtesyparts.com

Yoy have to cut a part of the air box bracket (drivers side) for the StreetBeatCustom FSTB to fit (likewise with the Courtsey). Not really a big deal since enought of the bracket remains to hold the air box.

Courtesy has released a 5th gen version of their FSTB that doesn't require the bracket to be cut.

Actually you guys are mistaken, if you buy the Courtesy one it no longer requires you to cut anything. I just got mine and it went in without any problems. One question, did you guys keep that metal washer that was on top of the strut tower or did you guys toss it?

Apparently the instructions with Stillen's FSTB say toss it. Since I had no instructions, mine is still on there. I think I'll remove it sometime soon.

I took my original washer off as the connecting piece on the Stillen performed the same function, and actually had a larger surface area to contact the chassis.

Love my TSB. =]

dvyuan I also have a Courtesy Bar, installed it this weekend and I left the washer on the strut towers since the Bar went on without any problems or mods needed. I think its just a personal choice. When using this brand.

PRINCE NISMO,
Are you saying you installed the 2k-2k1 version, or the '99 version, this weekend?

I ordered one from Courtesy, today, and am looking forward to the install in a few days. Any tips appreciated for anything out of the ordinary for the 2k-2k1 install.

I just purchased the Courtesy bar last week and installed it with now problem...even left on those top washers (not sure why) but wtf just left on since it all fit and the hood close ok.

I do have a problem with the driver side windshield squirter. It doesn't work now, only the passenger side does. Look into it and found that the bar is pushing up against the inside hood baffle and squishing the tube.

Just my 2cents....

Mdeal,
The version I have is the 2k-2k1. The End plates fit around (over) the whole strut tower not like the '99 version which only covered 2/3 of the tower. I did noticed on the passenger side I had to put a little push to get the plate on but no cutting or alterations needed. I went 9 turns (notches) on the bar at each side (once again I think it's a personal choice there is nothing in the directions on how many turns). And I used a torque wrench set at 35lbs to bolt the end plate to the strut tower. Also don't throw out the plastic bag the Bar comes in for some reason Courtesy put their instructions on the Bag. Good Luck and enjoy..... As for me I feel it was a good investment.

I just checked mine and they both seem to be working normal.
