I got in a fender bender and my hood isn't closed completely, so water could get in there if I did a car wash. My car is getting really dirty and I haven't had time to take it to the shop to get it fixed, but I was wondering what would happen if some water got underneath it? Sorry if it's a newbie question, but I really need a car wash.

I say just wash it by yourself and be really careful. Running it through a car wash could hurt it, but you never know.Originally posted by JMaster

1) Wash it yourself
2) There shouldn't be any harm, i pressure wash (low) the engine bay every now and then on all the cars i've owned to date. No problems whatsoever.

If you get water underneath the hood, just spray it off with a high pressure hose. I am sure it will come off. Originally posted by JMaster
