Very very hot.....

have any of you noticed that your car feels very hot while driving?
My temp. gauge says everything is normal but I can feel waves of hot
air coming in through the vents when they are open.

AC is off, vents open, driving at normal speeds. Air outside is
cool but the waves of air I'm feeling are hot and definitely coming from my car.

anybody else?

Yep, I feel the same in my 2k2. I usually close the vents (push in the re-circulate air button) to avoid it.

I have experienced this as well, only I have been driving the car hard lately. Spirited runs Anyways that and the hot weather here in Southern California are the only diffrences.

I have noticed this problem in my 2K too. Everything is turned off and it either gets hot or a litte cooler. I've noticed it depends where the temp. control is.

Yeah, if you have the automatic climate control, it doesn't seem to matter if you turn it off or not. It still puts out hot air if you used the heater last. If it bothers me I will turn it back on, set the temp to 60 and then turn it back off.

Holy ****, I was just going to start a thread like this today as well. My car seems to be hot inside even though the air is off and the temp outside is a cool 65 degrees. It's so weird. I always have toi leave the window cracked because it gets a little toasty inside. I though I was the only one.

Ditto here. It drives me crazy. All my other cars ran cool air through the vents, this car seems to blow warm air even when it's cool outside. I thought it was due to my black on black car, and I was going to tint the windows to help out.

I end up using my AC way more often then I need to....or should need to.

On a loaded 2k2 SE the temp. **** works even if unit is off.
Try it sometime turn the unit on the to see temp setting then turn it off. Turn the **** some then turn the unit on again. You'll see then temp setting has changed. When you want a vent type air flow with out the unit on be sure to keep it turned down to 60. Don't know if this is the same with other 5th Gens. Hope this helps.

Try this...turn your a/c unit to the lowest figure and then turn the a/c unit off...this works! If you leave the A/c unit on mid to high temp and turn it off, it will blow hot air.

not just the max

i also notice this in my 00max and 02 max, and also in my 94 altima. although they are nissan cars, my by-gone 91 toyota corolla did exactly the same thing. i always thought it's normal; just switch to interior air-recycle and roll down a window.

Re: Very very hot.....

I've noticed it. Seems like it comes out of my lower vents while i have it set on the upper vents for cooling.

I'd love to keep A/C on but just can't bring myself to it because it kills my MPG

Just like GimmieTorq said, if you have the auto climate control you have to push the recirc button. When you turn the system off it just stops the compressor and the fan from spinning, air is still brought into the cabin through the normal duct work. Infact if you turn it off, and adjust the temp **** listen carfully and you will hear the system adjust. Since the fan isn't spinning, the air moves more slowly and heats up as it passes through the duct work because of the engines heat. I always put the recirc button on when I turn the system off. I just hate that the recirc mode is reset everytime the car is started.
