Okay, I just wanted the opinion of the group on this one. I went to my dealer today and asked about ordering a Nissan Nose Mask for my black Max. I figured id use it during the winter cuz of all the road grime and slush. Any opinions for or against would be appreciated. THANX!

on black it might not look so bad but i prefer the car w/o the nose mask...its just a matter of opinion...it will keep the front end cleaner, but it is my personal opinion that it doesn't look too good...you can always go w/ a 3m clear bra which would look much better and probably be more effective (but quite a bit more expensive)

Actually, I am heading into the dealership this afternoon to pick up a nose mask also. I just got a black SE and I would rather it look like silly in the front during the winter than have see the chips and dings when I am washing it this summer. I never ever thought that I would be buying a bra...of any kind.

bra is cool but...

i have a bra on my white 2k se. i think it looks better w/ it, or at least the top part that goes on the hood. the thing about the winter is that you shouldn't put the bra on if it's wet out, especially when it rains because it can damage the paint. it will also say that on the instructions when you buy it. what i do is take it off when it gets get and dry it, then put it back on when it's not raining out.

well, i know that having a bra can protect your front end from dings and scratches....but i don't have it on my car for two reason...

1. have you ever seen any race-cars(formula one, stock nascar, indy, whatever...) with 'bra's?
2. after a while, there's going to be a color difference where the bra was and where the bra wasn't~!
3. don't wanna spend extra cash on a 'bra'...rather use that money for something else...eheeheheheheh....

but these are just my opinions....i mean, some like'em because they protect their cars' front end...and that, they really DO...

-peace...

p.s. just get a touch-up and a brush......that might be better.....

I have a 2K SE MT and I have a bra b/c it prevents most of the chips that is caused by hwy/fwy driving. It doesn't look that bad either. I would recommend that you check out Coutesy Nissan. They had the cheapest deal on the bra. I don't know where you live though, but the instructions say that it can cause fogging of the paint if left wet on the car.

I personally wouldn't get a bra for my black 99 SE. Especially during the winter when its cold, wet and and lots of dirt. Not only some bra's will scratch the paint itself, they will also keep that those pieces wet and dirty under the bra that will damage your paint and of course there will be color diff eventually.

I don't know where it was physically located because I live in Hawaii, and I ordered it online. I was under the impression that there was only one courtesy???!

how much do they cost?

i got a nose mask, but i got it for free. i was just wondering how much they go for. and if you're wondering how i got it for free, a few weeks after i bought my car, i noticed the paint chipping in the front, so i went to the dealer (i was a bit upset) and instead of giving me the run around, they touched the chips up, washed and waxed my car (i dont know why, it was clean) and they slapped on a bra. i was surprised, but i didn't say anything about and i went on my way. i'm going back to the dealer for there free first oil change, i wonder if i can weasle them out of something else for free?

Race cars dont care about stone chips! I happen to.....

Plus, a Maxima is not a race car

Seriously, my Maxima was getting so dinged up on the front I was forced to get a bra when I really didnt want to. After I got it on, I thought it looked pretty good. (Thats the reverse of the norm...usually when you get the bra off it looks good....hehehehehehehe ) This topic has gotten my mind twisted....

I paid $200 for the kit but the installation is different. This clear bra is like a window film produce by 3M.
Check http://www.clearmask.com they sell the cheapest kit in the market right now and there also x-pel and stonegard, they are the same product only different in price and also the kit a little bit different. you can check http://www.xpel.com to see how the kit for maxima look likes.

The biggest problem right now is the installation and there are not a lot of window tinting shop can do this job well, some of them that I knew was recommended by the kit maker.

we do have a special deal for maxima owner. check the group deal and you can also call James Seely (www.clearmask.com)
817-251-2177.

If you live around Dallas/Fort Worth .. we can meet and show it to you.

let me know if you need some more info

i have one on my black SE

I have a nose guard on my black SE. I usually leave it on for a month or two then take it off a month or two. I think it looks sharp either way. When Santa brings me my digital cam, I'll take a picture and show you what it looks like on.

It's not only good at protecting chips, but scratches on your bumper from the idiots who think when parallel parking it's okay to hit the cars in front and behind "because the bumpers can withstand impacts of up to 5 mph". I swear, I've heard that from at least 2 different ppl when trying to give someone pointers on how to parallel park.

I take the hood part off when going to the car wash. I'm also pretty vigilant about spraying with Meguiars Final Step under the parts the nose guard covers.

Mask for 2K MAXIMA

Well when I got my MAXIMA i drove it for 2 weeks with out a mask careful not to tail gate and avoid those dam sand and rock carring trucks and i still managed to get 3 chips in the front of my veh. So im for the mask on the MAXIMA, but make sure you take it off if it get wet till it dries and always keep a coat of wax on under it and in between regular waxing use a spray wax to protect the paint from moisture and dust that does get in between the mask and paint no matter how much you clean the car.

Next time you walk by a car with a bra on, pick up the edge of the bra and look at the paint underneath. You'll be surprised at the amount of paint wear just from the air vibrating it against the paint every day. Think about how much you already baby your paint. You don't go to those drive through car washes with brushes. You make sure your rags don't keep dirt in them when you wash the car so as not to put new scratches into the paint. You would never consider sliding stuff across the hood or roof. So why treat your front end like that and add a bra? You may save yourself a few chips, but you'll end up repainting the covered surfaces just due to friction alone. Even if it never gets water or dust or anything underneath it. Just look at a few other cars with bras. You'll be surprised.

its a certificate proving that my amp does 1235 watts at 12.5 volts , which would also mean that it does nothing short of 1600 watts at 14 volts...Goodnight

Car Bras

I don't use a bra myself, but I reccomend it for people that do not detail their cars often. Personally, I just prefer using Dawn liquid detergent, Meguiar's Overspray Clay, Show Car Glaze, and Meguiar's Medallion wax twice a month with their dual-action buffer, instead of using a bra. It's harder work, but your paint stays the same color.

3 M Clear Bra's

I was wondering where you live if you use the 3M bra b/c I would think that it would melt in the sun under extreme conditions. I live in hawaii and it gets pretty steamy here, in fact so hot that it cracks one of those clear lighters that you buy for about a buck. Ok let me know?
