well what exactly is different with the 2k3 Accord? (im being lazy, ill go search) .. isn't it still a 3.0L 200hp, 4-speed auto? <yawn> boring

The 7th gen Accord sedan is the same J30A1 from the 6th gen except with a 10:1 compression (up from 9.3:1), 3-rocker system, larger valves, high flow exhaust, electronic throttle body and high-inertia intake manifold that result in 240hp/212lb-ft (up from 200hp/195lb-ft).
From what I understand, there will be no manual tranny for the sedan V6. The coupe V6 is slated to be the performance model with a 6speed tranny.

Thus they bored it out further and made it serve several purposes.
The advantage to this is if there's a mod that comes out for the Z or such, it will most probably be available for others with the same engine as well.

You know how big their aftermarket for mods is going to be?! A lot bigger than ours. Stock for Stock we have nothing to worry about, but which enthusiast keeps their car stock!? besides me of course...
The 4-door version is sooo ugly! Our tail-lights look better IMO. Even the 2 door isnt that nice but its not that bad.

The 2 door coupe doesn't look too bad though, and with the 6speed that will give 02+ Altys and 00-01 Maxes a run for the money.

I saw an 03 V6 accord sedan today parked near a curb sidewalk with an 80 yr old grandma sitting in the backseat knitting. I have to say the stock rims didn't look that bad, but just the whole design and shape of it....the word "sleek definetly doesn't fit it. Even if people added body kits and ground effects, there's still much left to be desired.

why would you give props to Honda for the new Accord engine, they took a totally economy designed V6 and made it into a more enthusiast oriented V6 ... what am i saying ... they made their weak V6 into a better V6 ... they didnt pull 40hp out of their ***, they just got rid of the stuff that was limiting the motor. Raise compression, get all around gains, slightly more aggressive cams possibly, for the edge in HP, and actually running off all 4 valves all the time, instead of above a certain rpm, brought up the redline a bit, etc... and btw does anyone know if teh 2003 accord have the same VTEC setup as the TLS/CLS, or are they still running it only off of the intake side only still?
I cut off at 6500rpm on the graph just because I was lazy, and because it really isn't going to make much of a difference

Also, all of the Honda J-series SOHC VTEC V6 engines (J30A1/J30A4, J32A2, etc.) vary only intake valve timing and lift. Varying the exhaust timing as well, along with intake, all on a single cam, really isn't possible.
