Is it possible to install a pair of 8 inch mid-bass drivers in the space below the shifter, on either side? If you're sitting in the driver or passenger seat, I'm referring to the space next to your calf. The pieces appear to be plastic and would be a perfect spot.

 

Perhaps free-air woofers. It looks quite tight there.
