Which new finish on my Konig Tantrums?

I really like the way the Tantrums look on my Pearl White Max, but I'm not at all happy with the fragile silver finish. I've looked at literally hundreds of wheels to replace them, but have not found anything I like as much in 17x8. So instead of replacing, I'm having the tires taken off this week, and having them either chromed in California (at California Chrome Wheel), or stripping the silver off and having them polished here in Houston. I'm really torn on which finish to get done. Anyone have any experience with either finish on this particular wheel? Any other insight? Opinions on which finish?

I have Chrome on my 2001. I did have a '91 SE with Fitipaldi's on it. I didn't care for the silver finish, so I sent them out to be polished. They looked great and almost as shiny as chrome. They required to be polished often (Mother's Mag Polish). I just wax my Chrome about once a year and wash them regularly. I think that Chrome finish would add weight. I like the look of chrome, but the polished really looked nice, too, just not quite as shiny. Tough decision (chrome finish might be more expensive). Has to be your preference.

Yes, close. Some polishing shops will go a little further with the buffing and make the finish brighter, similar to say the new Corvette polished wheels.

how much does it normally cost? and is it a viable option for less angular wheels, like the stock se rims? i'm asking cuz i've put a few curb scratches on my rims and am looking for options other than shelling out a grand for rims.

You could get them stripped and powder coated to match your ride. Cost should be around $50-$60 a rim.

Chrome is more durable than polishing...

...good chrome, that is.

Chrome or polished will look cheesy. Just my opinion....

What is the cost per wheel for polished versus chrome? I've got a set of Tantrums too that I would like to clean up.
