Do aftermarket parts void factory Warranty?

I am about to put an exhaust on my max and I was wondering how much of the warranty is void from this?

suppose not but all depends on the dealer.... and they would have to prove that the after market product cause the problem....

None. And don't let the dealer tell you otherwise. Aftermarket parts do not void your warranty, however they may refuse warranty work if they can prove that your mod caused the specific problem. For example, if your cat rusts through before your warranty is up, then they cannot deny you replacement because of the muffler. But if, for example, your new muffler gets clogged due to poor design (I don't know how, but IF) and this causes to cat to explode or something, then you are **** out of luck and gotta pay for it yourself. Obviously your aftermarket muffler is not covered either.

Some dealers will give you a hard time, just go somewhere else if this is the case.

in the world of Nissan....

it all depends on the individual dealer. (which is horsesh*t)

According to my dealer ALL AFTERMARKET PARTS VOID THE WARRANTY.
This is also horsesh*t.

But in actuality, the aftermarket part in question voids the warranty
only if that is what is causing the problem (whatever that may be).

Re: Do aftermarket parts void factory Warranty?

Just remember, cutting your springs will void suspension warranty, too many LED's/washer fluid jet lights/etc. will void electrical, any exhaust with tip diameter >3 inches will void exhaust/powertrain, and too many stickers will void your body (rust/perforation) warranty.
