Help!!!!!!!!!!! Urgent!!!

The car won't start and I'm late going to Dallas.

Whenever i start it it just goes waaa waaaa waaa and won't turn over to start.
Any ideas? I called nissan roadside assistance and they are sending someone over.
But I would like to know what's going on since it's going to take 2 hours for them to get here.
TIA

No turnover? Probably a low battery. Try a jump.
Is it making like a clicking noise??

The starter requires more juice than your radio and etc. I've had similiar problems and it was due to a crappy battery. However, if your windows are going up and down at normal speed, it probably isn't. You'll have to describe the sound that it's making a little better.

sounds like fuel delivery or spark to me, if the car has power and it's trying to turn over. check your fuel fuse

Yo YJ, you didnt know??? thats 24 hour response, not 24 availability! joking aside, sorry 'bout your day.. I can drive a car a long time, but the day it strands me somewhere - the love is over. She'll be on the used car lot within 36 hours. I dont mean batteries and easy to diagnose stuff, but I wont put up with ECU and starter lock out crap.

TimW thanks for your sympathy and words of wisdom!

Now let me tell you guys what has happened today.

My g/f lives 2 doors down from me and I spend nights there and stuff from time to time. I woke up this morning to get ready to leave for dallas and I dropped my keys down the stairs and thought nothing of it and just picked them up and went to get ready.

I go downstairs and the car doesn't start.
Son of a b!tch!!!!!

I go find a fraternal brother of mine to get some jumper cables to jump the car and nothing.

First I think of calling nissan roadside assistance. I couldn't find the number anywhere. I call 1-800-NISSAN1 only to find out that there is no one there to help me out being that they were closed for the weekend. I called the nearest dealer to me. They didn't know what nissan road side assistance was and couldn't help me.
I called a nissan dealer in Dallas that I regularly take my car to. He gives me the 1-800 number and I was set to go.

I call them and this British lady answers the phone and says that a wrecker would be out here withing 2 hours.

So I sit my butt on the couch and watch reruns of Road Rules with my g/f all day. We did not see a wrecker pass by.

They call after 2 hours and 30 minutes to find out if my car was picked up or not. I told them that I was stuill waiting. They put me on hold and tell me that since I wasn't standing and waiting by my car that he didn't bother to stop and get my car.

Being furious as it is and seeing that the dealer closed at 3 (it was not 2:45) I told them I need a rental car to at least get to Dallas.
They Lady gets all crunk with me telling me that she is towing services and not rent a car. I get mad and tell her that I'm stuck and I need help.

Well an hour later the manger calls me and appologizes but still he tells me there is nothing they could do.

I get mad and hang up and decide to wait till monday.

I checked the .org 4 hours later to find yalls post about the key and low and behold there is no blue chip in my key.

Now I'm on my way to Dallas with my g/f and my fraternal brothers and the day will soon end.

THIS SUCKS.
I HOPE THAT ALL THE NISSAN REPS ARE READING THIS!!!!!!!

Mother Summama*****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called nissan this morning at 7:30 to make sure that the wrecker was cancled and that everything was cool.

I go to class and such and when I get back from class at 11 my car is sitting on top of the wrecker and the dude is about to drive off!

I was like hey everything was supposed to be cancled don't tow my car away.

Then I was like how'd you get my car up there without having it in neutral. Since it was parked with the engine side into the parking space.

I was ****ed!!!!!!!!!!

The dude let my car down when I gave him my keys.
You guys think there's any damage?

I'm so f&cking ****ed!

on a side note the guy also had a silver 350z on his tow truck as well. The front end was smashed real good.

Give me advise people

He doesn't need your car to be in neutral. A good tow truck operator has little wheels that bolt to yours so he can pull it up on the bed. And some cars transmission linkage can be tripped from the outside. (I don't know about Maxes though)

Hey YJ, so the blue chip/cover actually fell out of your key? if so, I'll have to be more careful with my key, I only have the key and the keyless entry remote together and I drop them all the time. I don't put any other keys on it. Maybe I should put a piece of tape over the blue part so if won't fall out.

What blue chip cover are you talking about on the key? I have a 2k3 and don't see a chip cover. Unless it is the small box on the bottom of the plastic piece around the key. If so please excuse me.

Yea, it s the small cover one the 'teeth' side of the key. ON my car, 2k SE, it is blue, well, in 2k, all nissans with that same type of key will have the blue cover on it.

Does your car still run if the chip falls out while the car is running? Would you mind trying this me please? Thanks!

uhm, I'm not sure what you're talking about driving the car without the chip. We all should know that it won't work without the chip. I was reading YJ's thread saying that he saw that the blue cover/chip was not there after seeing how many people mentioned the chip imobilizer feature. So I asked if his chip had fallen out to make sure. Because if the chip could fall out of the key from dropping the key, then I should be more careful of not dropping my key. If you're wondering if I can take the chip out? NO it's still in the key pretty securely.

Once you get a working key....

You'll need to perform the NVIS reset:

Funny, cause the 2k2 keys don't have a blue chip thing, must be embedded somewhere?

i guess with the 2k2 and 2k3 the chip is actually embedded into the plastic handle. on my friends 2k2 SE-R i noticed a blue plastic thing on the top of the key but i dont have that on mine.

EDIT:
for the 2k2 and 2k3 people look at your key looking straight down the metal part, on mine there looks to be a little plastic part that can be taken out, im thinking this is the chip part. on my friends key this is blue but on mine it matches the color

Ooo..... hehehe. I must've read your post wrong. I thought your chip was loose and it falls out.

Auuugh, to your question for the turbo timer or his problem?

I don't really know the answer to yours. My intuition on how the system works tells me it will work just fine without the chip once started, but I usually don't like to give my opinion without knowing for sure.

It's in the ESM somewhere, but it would be easier to try it than dig through all that info. Try it already, easy enough solution, eh?
