Nissan Parts Delay

I was in the Dealer the other day and the service guy was saying that Nissan is starting to have problems (as if they didn't already) getting parts into the country, because of that dock strike on the West Coast. Apparently, it's gotten so bad, that Nissan is going to stop production in Tennessee, because they don't have enough parts to finish any more cars!

Has anyone else heard anything similar?

I haven't heard this from Nissan, but I did hear GM has already had to shut down one of their production facilities. JIT-heads.

well, the domestic makers would start flying in parts when this sort of thing happened. I'm surprised they arent doing that. Funny seeing a Lear 24 (yeah, a tiny Lear 24) full of seat covers or wiring harnesses.

Can Nissan not sue for lost time, employees not sue for lost wages. And if this was the airlines, the govt would do something about it. Why don't the politicians get up off of their *** and do something for a change.

By the way, it is not a dock strike, but rather a management lockout. The employees are not allowed to come to work b/c they supposedly "slacked, and didn't meet quota of ships"

This is not pertinent to the Maxima, but I'm sure is inclusive of it...just trying to stay on topic. But it does speak of Nissan's troubles with the strike. West Coast Dock strike

No kidding, that strike is so retarded it's not even funny. They are protesting because the management wants to use barcodes?!
