When the car is at idle...I hear a weird beeping noise(kinda). It sounds like the noise a belt will sometimes make. I tracked the noise to a black thing that comes out of the transmission on the right side(if facing the windshield)under the right corner of the engine cover. When the cluch is press in the thing moves to the side. When the car is idleing, this "thing" is slowly girating back and forth. Every time it moves, it makes a squeak noise. If the clutch is depressed a little bit( as the "thing" moves) then the noise stops. Does anyone else have this problem, and is it normal?

Is this the same thing? I've got a 2K1 auto so I wouldn't be able to help, but maybe 2K2.6spd and Bluesbrkr can help.

 

Nope completely different noise. But I have that problem too. There is a tsb out and that topic has been discussed a lot. My noise sounds like this....

wheepp, wheep, wheepp, wheepp, wheepp, wheeep. (say it in a high pitched voice to get the full affect)

 

I don't know. I can't seem to duplicate the sound. How does it go again?
