2003 Maxima question

Hey guys, I just bought '03 Maxima SE Titanium with Bose system. The car is only two days old. It seems that the rear sub is rattling when playing music is deep bass at low volume. I took the car to the dealer today, they took the speaker out and found everything ok with the speaker. We went out to a different Maxima on the lot and appears that it has the same issue but worse. Is this a known issue on these new Maximas? Anyone else having the same problem as I?

Yup. Do a search on this one. Bose sucks. Big time.

I have a 2k3 SE Max with the same set-up. Mine doesn't rattle at all but I do have the bass set to '0' on the audio controls as anything more produces boomy bass. I agree, however, that the bose leaves something to be desired.

the speakers them self are excellent, but i have the problem with the sub also.. try taking off the plastic behind your back seat, and also take the third brake light if you can (i could bc i had the spoiler installed afterwards and i have a gle).. that helped my rattle a little bit..

I had the same problem on my 2003 MAXima GLE. I used $100.00 worth of extreme dynamat material and that didn't work. When I had my Stillen RSTB installed, it lessened the rattle 80%. I plan to use spline material used to secure screen to a screen door between the rear deck parcel and the thin metal attached to it. I will post my progress soon.

It's actually surprising that the Bose in the 5th gen isn't any good; the one in my '95 sounds great. I found the same thing though, and just bought the standard stereo because it actually sounded better than the Bose...
