I am having several problems with my 02 GLE.
The first problem is my fuel mileage and the trip
computer. I realize it is off 4-5 mpg and that
is not what concerns me. My fuel mileage has been
jumping all over the place. It goes from 13.5 to
18.5 to 25.7 back to 16.7 and so on. This is just
driving around less than a mile. 95% of my driving is driving around town to work which is
only 1/2 there and back. My fuel mileage has been terrible. It was around 15mpg but has dropped to 12-13mpg lately which is most likely
related to my second problem. I only use 93 octane gas.
My second problem is related to the steering.
Every since I had the transverse link recall done;
my steering has been terrible. The steering is
very loose and the car pulls. I also notice
that the turning radius has also increased.
I am taking to the dealer next week to have looked
at. Has anyone had any similar problems with their Max's?

 

searching on fuel economy, etc will result in a number of threads that specifically attribute alot of mileage issues to short triips and running rich until the engine reaches FULL operating temperature....
