Heel and toe sucks on 5th gen

Heel and toe sucks on 5th gen
I've had the car now for a few weeks, an '02 with a 6-speed and limited slip. The way I figured it, thanks to those stupid attorneys who, back in '86, sued Audi for "unintended acceleration " on the Audi 5000 (anyone remember that?), the automakers has since then spaced the accelerator and brake pedal too damn far apart to do good heel and toe. BTW, Audi was not once found guilty, all the experts said it was driver error. They stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake.
Unless you have EEE wide shoes or Bozo the Clown feet , it is very difficult to H/T. Has anyone tried any fixes?
As an aside, the JDM S13/14/15's have pedals closer together than the US 240sx's.

It's still not perfect but it works.

I have no prob doing H/T with size 12 sneakers. It's my leg that causes problems, tough to turn it in there, not much room. Maybe if I wasn't 6'4" it'd be easier.

no heel & toe
I have to agree. I have never been able to do the h&t thing, and I can't say it's shoe size (I use a 10.5 wide). It just escapes me, and even when I think I'm doing it properly the ECU seems to think otherwise. I keep wondering if H&T isn't something for bygone days without ECU's.

I have in some cases put my foot too much to the left (caused some unwanted compression/engine braking but not the end of the world) and too much to the right (boy that one can be annoying...foot slides off the brake and the turn comes up very fast...scary).

I have been able to heel and toe fine....
but the way i do it is different....
instead of actually using by toe on the brake and heel on the gas (or vice versa) I keep my whole foot on the brake (safer this way too) and use the side of my foot to blip the throttle....
i have wide feet...so it may not work if yours aren't....
this is the way my dad tought me...cause he said "back in the good ol' days" you needed your whole foot to slow down those beasts from the sixties...

I have some JDM video's (It's kinda like watching Iron Chief for cars )and they have these guys rip around tracks in Skyline GT-R's, EVO-VII's and the like and they have a picture in a picture of the guy driving, plus a shot of the pedals and you see them heel & toe, very cool. They seem to prefer the ball of the foot on the brake and they twist the foot in and use the heel to hit the accelerator. Extremely graceful doing it. That is pretty much the "classic" H&T move.
