Heated Seats

Just wondering if anyone can confirm. I believe the manual says to be sure to switch the heated seats to OFF when you get out of the car. My question is.....if you forget, will the heated seat continue to run throughout the night, even after you shut everything down?

Not sure if it is supposed to be that way or not, but the one or two times I 'forgot' and left the switch on when I got to work in the morning, I came back out at lunch and all was fine...seats cold again (yeah one of those rare 30 degree Houston winter days).

Nothing like the heated seats - but it takes a little time for those puppies to heat up.

Doesn't it feel like you p!$$ed your pants when it starts getting warm?

I haven't ****ed my pants since I was a toddler (you walked right into that one ) I know what you mean though. Feels more like spilling coffee on my lap.

Do you ever notice your heated steering wheel warms up quickly and gets nice and toasty, but then it cools off by itself? Mine doesn't stay hot the way my seats do.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I think it does it for safety reasons.

When I lived up north I only kept it on for a few min's anyway.

The seats stay warm because of your aass insulates the cooling off of it. Unlike your steering wheel where you only insulate a small portion because your hands can't insulate like your aass can, haha.

I suppose that all makes sense...I can't stand having the heated seats on the High setting for too long. It starts to scald!

I'm waiting for my leather to come in. I can't wait to park it on some heated leather, instead of the cloth right now...and it is getting damn cold here in Seattle...

Answers.
The seats and wheel are all controled with a thermostat. They tell you to turn the switch off because it may wear down the battery (told by the dealer). I dont see how this can happen, but thats what I was told. It also says in the manual that the steering wheel only heats up for a short time and then cools down, it does warm up again but after 20 minutes the wheel turns itself off.
Hope this helps.
