I have it but I haven't had time to install it yet. Looks awesome though. I'll post pics when I finally install that and the various other goodies I have laying around.

I have it. .. I installed it early last week. The ride is definately stiff as it should be. Obviously install was a breeze. It looks great except for one little thing. . .the custommaxima.com logo in the center of the bar was upside down on mine. so if you standing at the front of the car looking into the engine, it is upside down. . .minor complaint. Im very happy wiht it.

Yicks!! That sucks! That's my ONLY dislike about the bar - the "logo" on the front. Call me ****, but that's the only thing stopping me from buying it (or does it look different from the pics on their website?)

Why not just take the bar off and mount it the correct way. I can understand if the rings have to go a particular way but the bar should be able to be turned around.

Yah know, you got a point there.

and I still don't like the "logo" but I love the price. Hmmm....

Just to let you guys know, the strut bar does not fit the 02/03's. I installed it on Saturday and when I hit the accelerator a loud noise came from my engine bay(it sounded like I had an Ingen in my Max which I don't). The problem is their is hardly no clearance between the stock air box and the top of the engine, so the parts of the bar vibrates against the engine bad. They updated their website today. I'm waiting on a phone call from Greg to get refund.

For those that bought

What year did you purchase it for 00, 01, or 02.

And has anybody VERIFIED for SURE that it does not rub the hood liner?

Thanks

I spoke with Jose about an hour ago at Custom Maxima, the bar will fit the 00/01's but not the 02/03's. I bought some washers from Lowes to try and increase the clearance then it started rubbing against the hood liner. I waited all this time for this bar and this happens. I think Southwest may receive a call from me once I get a refund from Custom Maxima.

It took me about 3 hrs to modify the FTSB to fit on my 02. I used a Dremel to cut two small notches in the FTSB directly above the intake manifold. I also waited about 4 mos. for this to become available and
was very disappointed with the fit. This is especially disturbing when you consider that Greg indicated that the delays in manufacturing were caused by ensuring correct fitment of the bar.

I just e-mailed Greg and he said mine was shipped. I hope I can refuse delivery because I'm not going to hack it up so it will fit. I'm surprised it was shipped especially if they knew there was a fitment problem, but I will give him the benefit of doubt that it shipped right before they got notice of the fitment problem.

We are addressing this unfortunate error. A simple fix would be to grind down 1/16" off the bar and it will then fit correctly. We have the problem corrected and a new batch of bars on its way to us right now. Anyone who is having fitment issues can either get a full refund including shipping or we will send you the correct bar. In the past couple weeks we have shipped out over 200 bars and only a handful of people called in about it, so luckily it is not as bad as it could be. Any questions give me a call at 203-730-0858.
Thanks,
Greg

Mine works just fine!!!!!

I ran into the same problems with it the first time I put it in. The grinding noise from the engine as I stepped on the gas. I readjusted the bar several times and then I figured to install the outside nuts then the inside. I centered the bar put the outside two nuts on first. Tighten them down really good. Madde sure the bar was clear of the manifold the tighten the two inside nuts. You just cann't tighten them all the way down. This bends the rings also makes the bars contact the manifold. I been driving it for about a week now and it performs great. Now modifications no cuts no dremmel no nothing. Just some adjustments hear and there.

Thank you Custom MAX!!!! You got at least on satisfied customer!!!!!!

Yep same deal with my courtesy FSTB. It did not fit at first and then I played with it a little. Now it's on perfect..

Rather then jumpinmg the guns guys why dont you try looking at the problem and seeing what can be done about it. Lots of aftermarket parts need a minor tweek to make work.
