Yea i love the bov but i hate it cause it makes me run rich! My car wasnt made for a bov it was made for a diverter valve. So my computer is wondering where the hell all the air from my turbo went so it louds gas into my engine which causes me to waste gas. i will send a more up to date race sometime soon. Yea the dude thats hosting it i dont know whats with it it takes like 2 mins to get goin whether u got dsl or not. But 56k i wouldnt bother.

That was a BS race..

the 02 maxima was totally stock hence you could only hear the 1.8T's intake and BLOWOFF VALVE... did you seee guages on the A-Pillar??

A maxima at WOT and an intake would be very loud...

So it should be more like a stock maxima 2k2 got beat by a MODDED 1.8T...

Not STOCK VS STOCK...

FULL DISCLOSURE bud, thats the key..

'02 auto Maxima perhaps? Is it just me or the Maxima seem pretty slow in the video.

Nice Jetta, pretty quick.

Edit: Ok, I know it was an auto Maxima. Still though, thought the '02 Maxima was faster? Maybe because it's an auto. Highway racing isn't an auto strong point that's for sure.

ok first of all no intake. I had a chip and downpipe that was it. and the blow off valve which is no extra power. So really the maxima was either 255 or 265 stock mine was 150. With those 2 things i took the maxima. Its not like i sprayed on him or anything. i had 2 mods, bald tires, and a clutch that sliped and still slips in every gear, its funny actually when i race i never stop slipping i slip through first , second, third, but i give props to the maxima there quick.

I think you should run a '02 6spd Maxima, a much better competitor for you. Like I said, autos are not good for highway runs. I should know, I have an auto.

ok so at 19 psi that means it only has a chip. Which means no bolt ons. To be honest i have never raced a maxima with bolt ons before cause actually i havent ever seen one. But i have every bolt on for my car so i wouldnt mind running a maxima with bolt ons. Its a 3.5 so he should win but who knows once that turbo spools the jetta starts hunting cars down.

Can I have a bite?

BTW, me and Don are gonna run this weekend, both stock 2k2 CL-S and 2k2 Max autos..

This will be interesting since I haven't ran one in this car yet, just a Altima auto in my 5spd Max!

haha ur talking bro 16.2 is it and a 2.7 60ft? Sounds like u are the one that looks slow. Anything higher than a mid 14 should be banned for the track let the real cars race. I hate that when i go to the track and a stupid z71 tahoe or 96 civic with a muffler go up there and run high 16's and 17's **** me off. Just so u know my last run was a 12.997 @ 104
60 1.91
330 5.389
1/8 8.29
mph 84.67
1000 10.756
1/4 12.997
mph 104.09

On a 1.8T, all it takes is a simple chip upgrade to get you 50hp at the crank..

Damn turbos... I WANT ONE..

bro dont get me wrong ok stock maximas are pretty quick ok, im just saying that looks are decieving. We started in a low 2 gear roll in the 2 one. THink i heard my bov 2 more times after we went so thats 4 gear i was in so i was going over 90 on a turn with stock suspension. And that run was with drag radials and dump tube. In the clip i was prob running low 14's. I gotta go be back tomorrow,Pe@cE!

1 last thing. it was a 40 wet nothing very serious! A normal honda that sprays does a 60-100 shot. W/o N.O.S. I would think i am a 13.3-6. So dont think i depend on nitrous!

Let me take that back...the turbo is only gonna fit the 2k-2k1 models. My bad.

Look on the bright side, Ethan is running 13.8 NA. I'm sure that E or someone else will come up with more ways to squeeze hp's out of the 3.5.

You guys got to remember the Jetta is lighter than the Maxima. Weight is a factor.

1.8Ts can be made into really fast car with just a few mods. Too bad I'm just not too fond of the looks, with the exception of the A4. Although the Maxima isn't much of looker either.

OK, since I own both a 2k2 6spd and a 2k2 GTI 1.8t. Stock for stock

Put the chip on, and my max will still pull. I plan on hooking the 337 up this spring. Prolly a little chip, down, and boost control. With all that, it should pull one car on the Max. BUT by that time, I will have changed the Max.

Lets just say that Ethan won't be the only one running in the 13s NA. I also am looking at the poss. of building my own Turbo setup. I am trying to figure out how the 4th and 5th gen guys are running the manifold to the Turbo, but once I figure that out, then I am going to start drumming up the crew to do this.

I Figure with the 4th Gen Turbo guys estimating their HP upwards of 320+ at the wheels, then I should see somewhere above 350+ @ 9psi. May be crazy talk, but I cannot wait to see what comes of this over the winter. If it happens Then watch-out!

Oooo I just got all tingly.

Dude, you drive a Jetta. I wouldn't drive a Jetta if I could tune it to run 9's. They are the gayest chick cars on the road. Recent consumer research shows that 94% of all Jetta are driven by women. The other 6% are driven by gay men. Which are you??

By the way guy.... I believe the numbers you were looking for there were Max - 255 (crank) and 1.8T - 180 (crank).

Not to mention, you raced a car that is actually slower than the 5spd 2k-2k1 Max that only had 222hp (crank).

I second that. But this time you should have the person shooting the video from inside the Jetta.
