On my 2000SE w/sunroof their's one push button for the map light. Light goes on ok when useing button. Used to be the map light would go on when opening the left door. Now it doesn't automatically come on. Tried mode1/2. What's left to try ???

 

I map light would never come one when opening the door. Do you mean the dome light?

Sounds like a wiring issue with the dome light. If it's under warranty, take it in. Shouldn't take them long to figure it out.
If not under warranty, you can start pulling it apart and checking wires for continuity and checking connections.

 

Since the dome light works by itself it's a matter of not getting the signal from the door. Might be one wire. Was hopeing it was some programing thing like "push all 3 remote buttons at one time for 3 seconds" or something like that.
