Conditions for painting calipers

It says between 55-70 degrees but it's only about 49 here. Do you think it will make a difference besides taking longer to dry?

What paint are you using? I'm in your area and did mine last weekend..about the same temp (40's) and it seemed to work fine..dried quickly...I just used some hi-temp engine paint..gloss black. We'll see how it holds up through the snow and salt this winter...

It's G2 caliper paint. It has the paint and reactor that you mix and then brush on.

Not familiar with that brand, but what the hell, clean 'em up and paint...I doubt it will be gettin' any warmer anytime soon....besides, you're only 6 degrees low...

Yeah, well it didn't turn out that great. I don't know if it's the weather or the paint. It doesn't seem to coat very well. I might end up spray painting it with some VHT.

Sorry to hear that.

The first coat I put on my rear caliper didn't seem to cover too well either. The problem was that I hadn't gotten it clean enough. For the other 3, I used a toothbrush and brake cleaner and scrubbed hard. That was the ticket...the paint went on fine. Still needed 2 coats for complete coverage, though. I'm not a 'paint guy'....what's VHT?

I did 2 coats. I probably could of done 3 but the weather wasn't helping. VHT is just a different brand of paint.
