Wheel alignment after lowering??

To those of you that have maxspeeds on how long after you did your installs did you actually get your wheels aligned?? My alignment is off due to lowering and I was wondering if I had to wait a certin amount of time b4 I did get them aligned. All suggestions welcomed.

Get it aligned immediately unless you want to spend money on new tires as well. When you get an alignment, the shop usually gives you a minimum of 6 months 12k mile warranty. Take it back close to then and have them check it a second time.

Don't know. Mine was way off after struts and springs were installed. You can go back in a couple of weeks and have them check it again. Usually you can have it checked as much as you want within the first 6 - 12 months and 12 miles.

alignment

I had Eibach's done on my car. Had the alignment done the same day. They needed it. Slightly more than a month later I had the alignment checked and it was fine.

Get an alignment a couple weeks after the install. Wait for the springs to fully settle.

No, do what virus said at the top. He's totally right. You can go through tread soo fast by leaving them un-aligned.

I don't think that the maxspeed drop is enough to throw the alignment out. I have had mine on since Feb. and I never got an alignment. I don't have any unusual tire ware either.

Think about it! You're going to need an alignment anyway. Get the alignment right away and save possible abnormal wear on tires. As said b4, the shop will check it again later for free within a certain amount of time. Ask the shop about this (warranty) and if they won't do it, find another shop.

how much should an alignment cost. I went to the shop and the guy kept changing the price. Also, what's the deal with alignment warranties?

Warranty = they will check your alignment free for time/mileage. You only pay if alignmnet changes. Ask the shop. If prices keep changing, would this be a warning flag? The tire shop I go to charges a certain amount for a particular type of alignment (2 wheel or 4 wheel). 2 wheel = $44.95 4 wheel = $69.95 If there are problems, they will charge for repairs. This shop will check alignment free after they do an alignment. I buy my tires there, also. Free tire rotation and alignment checks.

No you wont go thru thread real quick. If you do a search, you will find that waiting for them to settle is recommended.

Funny, every shop I called said that they require an alignment with the work. This includes Nissan. All of the places I called to buy them also said to get an alignment immediately. Your spending alot of money, no reason to do the job half as*ed!

What does thread have to do with an alignment? Do you like to sew?

I just installed my Maxspeed today and the guy at the shop said it was not necessary at this time.

I plan on driving the car for a few weeks, to let the springs settle, and checking the tirewear periodically. I will most likely take the car back to the shop that installed the springs to get a quick look underneath the car to check.

They are just trying to make some added money. I got my suspension aligned a month after I installed my Eibachs at my nissan dealer. They said it really didnt need it because it was still "in spec". If your car doesnt pull after the suspension work, it really doesnt need an alignment IMO.

Just for piece of mind, I went and got it done after it settled. The month I drove around did little or nothing to tire wear. My brother put H&R's on his 4th gen 6 months ago and hasnt gotten an alignment and his tires are fine. A lot of it depends on how much the drop is though.

If your car is out of alignment, wouldn't it drift when you let go of the steering wheel and try to let the car go in a straight line? I got my suspension installed 2 weeks ago, so far no problems. I'm waiting for the month.

Just because your car isn't pulling doesn't mean it's not out of alignment. How is my shop trying to make money off of me if I can pay 1 time an then go back as many times as I want within the warranty period? You'll have to pay now or later. I'd rather know for sure it's done at the beginning and then again in a few months when they settle. My cars alignment was way off after the struts and springs were installed.

Pulling is a tell tale sign to get an alingment. Thus if the car isnt pulling you dont need an alignment. The rear suspension is non adjustable and i dont think you can adjust camber without a camber kit on the front.

Of course it's a tell tale sign if it pulls it's out of alignment. My point is, just because it's not pulling doesn't mean it's not out of alignment. If you have cancer and don't feel sick, it doesn't mean you don't have cancer anymore. Sometimes the symptoms of alignment can be suttle enough not to warrant worry. Why not just be sure? We have 25k+ cars, why skimp on $50?

I have worn out tires because of poor alignment and the only symptom was uneven tire wear. The car didn't pull. Pulling is a sign of poor alignment but you can have poor alignment without pulling. That's my experience. That's why I examine my tires for uneven wear and rotate often.

I've understood alignments to do two thing. 1) straighten the steering wheel with the tires and, 2) set the tow.

The tow is what I am worried about after the installation.

Am I off
