I was expecting something more in the Sporty Sedan look... G35'ish.. so far every picture I've seen makes the next Max look like it should be in the Geriatric unit... Im happy I got the 2K2.. Might be the last TRUE sporty sedan Nissan cranks out !

Time to visit BMW and Benzo !
Altima cheesey??? Hey they could have easily slapped Maxima name plate on a 3.5SE and offered it in a V6 only and you guys would have bought it....and you know it.

Looking at the photos again I realy think this will be the new Maxima. Think about it..

1 3rd gen Altima is as big (if not bigger) than the Maxima
2 the 3rd gen Altima (3.5SE)and the Maxima are pretty dam close under the skin
3 The 6th gen Maxima will be bigger it's evolution
4 Nissan needs a flageship sedan the Altima will fill the size niche left by the 5th gen Maxima.

Just my 2 cents

It's the Holden SSX.

Since Holden is a GM Company in Australia, they will be working on the USA Pontiac GTO together. ...or something like that.

Check these pics out..the rear isn't that nice. THE FRONT IS HOT THOUGH.

Holden SSX Concept

I think the I series will remain. Rumor has it that Infiniti is moving to a non-FWD line-up. L31 Altima is on the FF-L platform, the same platform as the Murano which is available in AWD. Next Maxima is supposed to be based on a stretched version of that platform, which supports AWD. Infiniti would like to see more differences between the Maxima and Ixx. If the I stays, Maxima would be FWD and the I would be AWD.

BTW, I've also heard rumors of the L31 Altima becoming the next Cefiro. If the Max and Ixx go Teana, then I can see that happening.
