How to read dipstick?
I can't read the oil dipstick to save my life, WTF? I only know I have 4 1/2 qts by changing the oil. Any suggestions to read the dipstick?
Also just used the Bosch oil filter any comments on it? It looked to be constructed exactly like the Mobile 1 filter.

No clue myself.....
It's a bish and takes 5+ tries minimum to get 1 or 2(if I'm lucky) non-smeared reads.
The only thing I've found that works is to ONLY try when the car has been sitting overnight, otherwise it reads a quart low to a quart high.

There is this one guy that did a test on all the oil filters and still the OEM one came out to be the best cause it had the most surface area of any other filter. Wierd but true.

I used the Bosch filter on my last oil change and got the BlackLabs test done on the oil. Not as good as I thought.

The Bosch filter looks the same as the Mobil 1 because they are both made by Champion labs on the same assembly line. The difference bewteen the Bosch and Mobil 1 is the filtration media used.
I would recommend a search on oil filters as bill99gxe has researched them extensively and posted info here.

Thanks guys. The Bosch was $5 and the Mobile was $12 so I chose Bosch.

Seems like the engine shoots oil up the dipstick tube. Let the car sit for a while then wipe the stick and dip. Works for me, but the car has to be sittin for a while so the oil can drip down to the pan
