Yes...Another Oil Filter Question...

And yes I did do a search...so here's my question. I went out to AutoZone and bought a Mobil 1 oil filter (M1-108) but then I saw that the the M1-110 was also available but for the 2k-2k1 Max. So I ended up buying the M1-110 thinking that bigger is better...at least in terms of filtering area.

Now my question: Will the M1-110 work fine on my 2k2 or should I get the M1-108???? This question was never actually answered in any of my searches.

Thanks guys

Interesting, as I addressed this a few days ago.....

Search results for "m1-110 m1-108":

http://forums.maxima.org/search.php?...der=descending

Odd that search strings such as "m1-110" or "m1-108" didn't answer your question.

Yeah I did that exact search and nobody talked about the Mobil 1 filters...only the OEM filters. Unless I'm blind and I missed a post

Nobody?

Are your reading the search links posted here?

Here's one thread from the search that I (and supposedly you) did:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....ighlight=m1108

What part of that isn't clear?

Could have been worse...at least you didn't post about tires.

I noticed that you are running 225/55/17 are you lowered? and the does the tire look too "tall" in the wheel well?

Thanks.

No lowering here...stock ride height and suspension. I think they look good...fill the wheel well nicely and have a beefy appearance (even though some around here joke about SUV looks when tires get over 50 series). There are no fitment, rubbing, or other issues and I wanted a more compliant ride for crappy Houston roads.

If it ever stops raining around here, I will try to take some pic's for you. E-mail me or PM me as a reminder.

Re: Re: Re: jjs I have a question about your tire size....

I'll stick with the OEM filter for two main reasons.

1) it's easier to remove/install then some of the non-OEM types.

2) if something goes wrong...I can always state truthfully that I have used Nissan OEM filters and there shouldn't be any quibble from the dealership.

1) It's about the easiest vehicle to change a filter on, regardless of which one you use.

2) Keep telling yourself that as the dealer is looking for some other reason to not honor a warranty issue involving your engine.

The best cure for 2) is to have your oil analyzed. Nissan can take whatever assholish approach it wants in regards to honoring your warranty.
