I just got my H&R springs installed a few days ago with eom struts. I've started to notice a quiet "thump" sound from the spring/strut area (mainly the front) when going over small bumps or when braking to a stop. It's not that loud, but noticable when the radio is off. I'm sure this isn't normal. Any ideas on the problem?

Probably bottoming out. Stock struts are terrible.

and I get the same thump from the front AND the back.

I'll be getting the modified KYB AGX's in a few months and hopefully that should get rid of the "thumping".

I have the same set up, H&Rs on stock struts and no sounds at all. I love it. No bouncing and handling and look is 100% better.

I do have some cluncking sound in front right side that was there before I installed H&Rs, I thought it had to do with traverse link recall, but even after I had it done it is still there. I am taking my car to dealer to get that knocking sound fixed soon.

btw, I had the same knocking sound at the same place on my 2000 Maxima SE. Maximas suspension design sucks majorly

i'm definitely not bottoming out. it's like a light thump/clicking sound. any other thoughts???

maybe the spring isnt seated correctly. or maybe they forgot to put the layer of the deadening plastic from the stock springs onto the H&Rs.

I would check to see if you have the bottom spring coil isolation sleeves on. they are a black plastic piece that goes over the bottom coil of all four springs. If that isn't on I hear it will give you some odd creaking and clunking sounds.

thanks for all the tips. i made sure they put the isolation springs back on. i'm taking it back to the shop tomorrow. will let you guys know what happens.
