Noise from A/C fan.. Anyone else?

Recently, I've noticed for about a week now on my 02 SE that when I turn on the A/C or Heater I hear a strange noise from the fan for the first five minutes but then it goes away. It happens everytime I turn it on and after five minutes. It sounds like something is hitting the fan and then it stops. Has anyone else encountered this? If not, could this be signs of needed warranty work? Thx

Your fan needs to be lubed. I believe some members here have had that done under warranty. As for me, I have the same problem when the A/C is on at all times. Wonder if there is some method to do it yourself?

I have a 2000 and have had the problem fixed three times by the dealer. There is a TSB on it for the 2000 I dont know about other model years. Apparently the fan motor is designed very very very poorly. It will start to make that noise and only get worse until replaced. Sometimes the noise can also be attributed to a loose hose on the fan motor. This recycles some air back into the system to help keep down noise, but if loose it is really noisy to the cabin. It should be under warranty if you can make the guys at the service center hear it. Mechanics at Nissan have a problem with their hearing it seems.
