So when you guys are at the track, or the street trying to get a good start, what RPM do you launch at? Also, what RPM do you guys shift into second, and third that would give u the best acceleration, or best times? or even a tire chirp when shifting into third. Personally I have found shifting at teh redline doesn't necessarily gives the best performance.... what do you guys think?

im in a auto and i usualy go between 15k and 18k RPMs

 

I think you meant 1.5K and 1.8K???

 

I launch at about 2400 - 2600, ease off of the clutch. I usually shift just before redline. My dyno plot shows that I'm still in my peak hp range at redline. If your dyno shows that your car drops off quick right after peak hp (5800-ish), then maybe you can shift just there after, but with my mods, I'm still in good shape at redline.

I launch between 1800RPM~2000RPM...but not droping the clutch though.....I ease off the clutch. I shift at around 5000RPM up till 4th gear, but I usually ease off at 5th gear, by this time I am probably going 90~100MPH...I havn't took my car over that speed yet since its only like a month old.
