For those with Maxspeed springs..realized something

I bought maxspeed springs off of ebay for a reasonable price, and heard good things about them. I realized that the springs are yellow in color. I don't know about most of you, but yellow isn't exactly my favorite color. Can you see the springs when they are installed? If so, can they be painted? Thanks.

I still have stock rims and tires on and can't see the springs unless I really work at it.

Put it this way, look at your car now during the day. Do you see the springs?

If you don't then chances are with the lowered height you won't even see the Maxspeeds.

As far as painting it, it's a possibility. Either that or wrap it.

The thing is that stock springs are a very dark color and blend in with the wheel well. These things are bright yellow.

Its not that bad, but can they still be painted? (please, no comments on Kloogy's rims; we all know they're nice)

Yellow is better than teal blue. Who the hell picked that color?!?!?!

You can only see the rears on mine. The fronts are not at all visible.

I don't know man, id rather have blue than yellow. Try to see if I can have them painted. I still want to have that blacked out sleeper look with my car...

i think mike's suggestion of wrapping em is a good bet since you'll prolly want to put isolation sleeves on em anyway. might as well put them on all the way up. plus you wont have to worry about the paint cracking or chipping.

So what would I wrap them in exactly? Would a shop have this?

Personally the color has NEVER bothered me but if you want to go thru the work to change color, DO NOT paint, they are powdercoated and paint will not stick to them...r

emove the spring and slide whatever color shrink wrap from an electrical supply store/Radio Shack/Home Depot/Lowes over the end and adjust on as far as you want in the middle potion up to and under the edge of where the isolator wrap goes over...

Use the heatgun that everyone with rear clears has not taken out of the box since they did that God-forsaken mod and shrink it to fit.

Replace the isolator and re-install the spring assembly...there your color is changed and it will not come off or bind or break like loom or anything else.

Happy wrenching...
