Film on 2k2 headlights, any fix yet?

This topic was discussed a few months ago, does anyone have a solution for the milky film that seems to plague the 2k2 headlights? It seems to be inside the lens. Maybe my dealer will replace the lights

dealer will replace the headlights.. mine have it, but I bought mine and converted. I guess I'll have to disassemble and polish/clean sometime. the TSB calls for just polishing the outside of the housing. However, if the dealer still sees haze (inside) they are supposed to replace. Lucky you.

3M makes two products to fix this problem. One is a plastic cleaner, the other a polish- I'm gonna try it on mine when I get it back from the body shop.

Is there a TSB for this issue? or did you talk to your dealer?

there is a TSB for the outside hazing. Also covers what not to use on them.

I just had mine replaced from the dealer. They said they would try to clean them out but I said no I want some new ones on the car. So they did.

I have a 2000 Max. I don't think they would cover that anymore, would they? Just wondering if there is a time limit on a TSB, since it's really not just a WARRANTY thing?

Just go to the auto part store and get some cleaner wax. Mine used to get like that until I realized how easy it is to clean.

For you HID guys, I cleaned my friends I30 with the cleaner wax and it removed all of the hazing.

Are you talking about the outside of the lens? Because the problem I have is the fogging on the INDSIDE.

We always have this problem when we discuss this topic...everyone says POLISH POLISH POLISH, but we're talking about the INSIDE INSIDE INSIDE of the lens. How the hell do I polish that? I don't want to take it apart if you shouldn't...

IS the TSB related to HID's in particular...yes, DO TELL. Anyone?

I'm right there with you Dogg! There is ALWAYS this pattern of INSIDE/OUTSIDE and I have YET to read anything about solving the INSIDE INSIDE INSIDE issue.

btw, I would not use cleaner/wax on those plastic housings. It may look good at the time, but the plastic will dull over time. Its not irreversible, as some good products can take that off too... but its better to just use Safecut or Blue Magic to start with.

I suspect the inside will require this too at some point. Not sure what the best polish would be for that. It will almost need some anti fogging properties.
