Question regarding Eibach Drop with 19x9.5 rims

I have a customer that has 19x9.5 rims on the back of a 2001 AE and is interested in installing the Eibach pro kit. Does anyone know for a fact if there will be a rubbing problem with this set up. Thanks

I'll be test fitting Racing Hart C5 3 piece 18x9.5 on wed, and i have the eibach/tokico combo, hopefully that will help u out. Check www.vqpower.com i think one of the max that is featured has 19x9.5 in the rear w/ a drop, not too sure.

uh..........doesn't the offset determine whether there will be rubbing? you could have a 7 inch wide wheel on a maxima and still rub with the wrong offset. correct?

Correct, but has to come to a point where 9.5 might start rubbing cause the wheel well is not designed to make it fit.

I gaurantee that once it is dropped and he hits a nice bump or sits 3 150lb people back there, every dip in the road will result in rubbing the inside of the wheel well plastic lining.

If it rubs, just roll the fenders.

A wheel that wide will probably require a 45 or 50 offset to keep from rubbing outside. That said, with a wheel that wide a 45 or 50 offset may rub inside.

so, a higher offset makes the wheel go inward? and a lower offset makes the wheel go outside more? outside meaning away from the body of the car....

Correct. The closer the number is to ZERO, the wheelhub for the wheel is in the center of the wheel when looking at it from the side.

a PLUS offset means it is closer to the front of the wheel. Negative offset means it is closer to the back of the wheel.

wait a minute, so the offset determines whether the wheel moves toward teh front(the hood) or back (the trunk)? I thought it determines whether the wheel sits closer to the brake pads or farther away from the brake pad, rotors and all that.

No No not that way, the other way. Out means closer to the edge of the car, In meaning farther in the wheel well.

Here this will help instead of me explaining it in words, picture says it all.

Those pictures are confusing. I saw them like a million times but I never cna understand what is drawn. Where is teh wheel exactly in that picture? is it the wheel is cut in the center, half the lug holes on one side and the other half on the other side, and we are seeing the exposed view after the slice?

What would you consider too thick of a tire for the 18x8.5? also what were the offsets of the wheels tested?
