Waiting for coil TSB is killin me

Yo peeps...

Just venting about the wait for the coil TSB to be done...had dealer look at it and they said it was a 21/2 week wait. Its killin me cuz in order to avoid the knock/ping I have to drive the Max like a lil old lady. Saves gas, but sheesh. A week and a half to go...

Anyways, I was wondering how much power the Max is loosing with these worn out coils...seems like alot of hp/torque is missing when the chance to boot it arizes (when it starts to knock again and then I immediately let up).

Hoping the coils bring back the hp I once enjoyed

oddly, I just got that work done and I have the worst gas mileage EVER. I just noticed I made two back to back gas stops since my last oil change... and thats only 350 miles ago. :/ I've actually made a note and plan to see what mpg I'm getting for sure. I'll freak out later when/if I find out something is really up there.. could just be the switch to 'winter' gas here.

Tim, are you an auto or 5/6 speed? Even now with the worn colis my auto still gets 26 to 28 MPG if I keep it under 85mph and keep my foot off the floor in the city. I hope I dont loose that after the coils...

How'd your power change? (if at all)

Hope this helps add a benchmark:

Averaged 24 City, 27 Highway, for the first 2500 miles on my 2003SE with Automatic.

I get about 16 mpg or less. My drive to work is less than 10 mins, so thats to be expected. Get on the interstate, car warmed up, I get 25ish.
