the brown stain must be the exhaust smoke ,the muffler tip sticks out about 2"inch and turns up slightly and has a duel tip.using my finger nail i can scrape through the stain and see the original paint,my car is pearl white is any body else having this problem?,do i need a new muffler?

Since your exhaust points upward, the exhaust will leave some soot on your bumper. I doubt the muffler itself has anything to do with it internally. It's just the postition of the tips.

My Max is also Icelandic Pearl, but I haven't had any trouble with the exhaust staining the bumper. Although, I have made no mods to my Max.

Thats probably your exhaust fumes staining the paint. I would suggest that you wash the area, then wax it with a cleaner wax. AS a LAST RESORT you could buff it depending on the angle this will be a very hard task(without burning the paint off) with a cleaner product like Pro Systems "cut" solution. I think its probably just the staining of the clear coat and thats ussually solved by buffing or waxing. I would recommend a professional doing the buffing because car paint burns VERY EASILY!

By the way, most of us dont have am exhausts. I wouldnt reccomend bending a muffler up towards the paint, bend the muffler into a place where it doesnt touch the paint, like to the side.
I still think it looks good.
