whistling sound...help?
whistling sound...help?
around the 2500+ rpm range, there is a whistling sound coming for the engine, only when i throttle. When I give it gas, the whistle grows louder, proportional to the engine speed. here is the kick, when i depress the clutch it goes away...do i need a new clutch? I dont know what symptoms to look for...is this whistling sound a symptom?

Anyone else noticed this or know what's going on?
I'm pretty sure your talking about the NORMAL engine whine/whistle/hiss/etc. that everyone complains about and the only reason it goes away when you push in the clutch is because the RPMS drop or rise depending on if your foot is still on the gas pedal.
with the intake, the sound was a more sucking sound...but the sound I'm hearing now is a progressive whirring sound...and when going 100km/hr, it really is loud. I checked my connections around the maf and stock air box, thinking I probably missed something or didnt tightent something, and it looks and feels fine.

I'm betting that little bish of a rubber collar that goes between the MAF and the "book" is your culprit. Every time I try and put it back together it gets sucked inside.
Maybe that sucker is leaking?
