Radio Problems

I JUST REMOVED MY STOCK NON-BOSE RADIO TO PUT IN MY HEAD UNIT AND I BOUGHT THE DASH KIT FROM NISSAN AND ALL THE ESSENTIALS(BY THE WAY LOOKS GREAT) BUT NOW I HAVE A PROBLEM. I HAVE THE HARDEST TIME GETTING RADIO STATIONS THAT I WAS GETTING BEFORE THE SWAP. IS THIS BECAUSE OF THE WINDOW ANTENNA. DO I NEED TO GET A ANTENNA BOOSTER OR DO I NEED TO ADD AN EXTERNAL ANTENNA? AND IS THERE ANYWAY TO GET THE DASH COMPUTER TO WORK AGAIN BECAUSE BY CHANGING THE RADIOS YOU NEED TO UNPLUG THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROL THUS DISCONNECTING THE ABILITY TO CHANGE THE DISPLAY. CAN ANY OF YOU HELP...ITS A 2003 SE

Re: Radio Problems

Some radio's don't perform well with FM reception, something you should've researched before purchasing your headunit.

As far as the trip and odo goes, get the PAC SWI-X adapter.

where would i go about getting a PAC SWI-X adapter. and i have a pioneer headunit. and the reason i didnt research this before is because i have never had problems like this before when it comes to installing a cd player. and i have put them in hondas ,vws, saabs, and toyotas.

alpine has horrible radio reception, but who really listens to the radio anymore anyway. however, by your description it sounds as if you didn't install the antenna at all??? The window antenna should work the same as it did before if you install it into the new aftermarket radio.

when you take out the stock radio and remove the antenna from the radio you will notice that the male(attatched to the antenna) end of it will not fit into the female end(the new headunit) so you have to go buy an adaptor. so i did that and thats when the problems began. and i know its plugged in because i thought i forgot to plug it in the first time. any of you that have changed radios..what did you guys do?
