6spd manual shift knob (turns)

6spd manual shift **** (turns)
I've noticed that sometimes when I grab on the **** and I shift, the **** (Above the pull up ring, the round ball with 1,2,3,4,5,6,R marking) tends to turn to left or right. Is there someway I can keep it straight?
This may sound like a totally un-important question but sometime I get annoyed by it b/c I feel the need to straighten it out after I park my car
Perhabs, I should invest in a aftermarket shift ****? RAZO?

My little plastic number insert on the shift **** was loose so I removed the shifter **** to tighten the screw. When I was reinstalling the shift ****, I found I really had to turn it with a surprising amount of force in the final half turn to get the **** aligned. I almost expected something to break, but its been 8 months and its fine. It may be that you need another full turn to tighten yours.

That's funny - I also noticed the same problem the first time today. I had just picked my car up from the dealer and noticed the **** was a little crooked (of course this is the dealer's fault!). A little twist and it was straight again.
Mine still takes a fair amount of twist to turn it, but if it becomes a problem I'll probably just try adding some tape on the stick to increase the friction.
------
Of course - reading further in the thread I now see that it's a just a screw that needs adjustment.

loose shifter
This happened on mine and I mentioned in on one of my drop-off's. They said they epoxied it in place. Not exactly what I wanted to hear (if I should ever decide to get it off). But it's solid now.

Mine did the same. When I would give it a good shift it would damn near spin out of my hand.
Just twist it around, it is really tough, but get it around one more time, and it will never move again.

Yeah, mine was the same way. Just gave it another full turn clockwise and its fine. They just screw on.
