Dealer just did an oil change on my 2k2.
I have normally done them myself with the OEM filter.
They used a PowerFlo, part # SL14620.

I think PowerFlo is really a Purolator Premium Plus filter...
the filter guru website lists this as an acceptable filter design...
and the cost was $3.00 ... is this a good alternative to the OEM?

 

Why did the dealer use a PepBoys label Purolator filter? The OEM filter is better than the Purolator. It is better than the Fram, you get what you pay for at $3.00.

I personally use the Bosch 3323 ($5.50 at Autozone) that is made by Champion Labs. They also make the Mobil 1 filter and STP oil filters.

 

It is Purolator but I believe those filters have drainback issues. The correct one is the 14610 (www.pureoil.com). Take it back and make them replace it with OEM or the 14610, if you get a chance.

 

Never use any other filter.. ALWAYS USE THE NISSAN FILTERS>.

they are simply the best filter ever made.. Do a search on the org.. there has been analysis done..
