ok heres the deal, its really hard to explain but im gonna try.....(i dont think there is a problem but i have noticed somethin that bothers me and was wondering IF i could be having tranny problems)....when i turn OD off and accelerate, say its turned off and im running about 2700 RPMS, when i accelerate (not WOT but not exactly easier either) the RPMs will climb to around 3000 and then stay there a second like there is a hesitation or somethin, then begin to climb again.....i notice it during hard acceleration, sometimes it will go up to around 3100 then drop to about 2900 then climb back up again. I am NOT easing off the gas either, this happens under steady hard acceleration but not quite WOT. nothing else seems wrong, just with OD off around that certain RPM band is when it does it, no other gear or anything like that. Oh and just for info purposes, i dont abuse my tranny ALL THE TIME just to find things like this, i was just messing around one day and noticed this. any help would greatly be appreciated!

I think that is the TC locking.... even in 3rd gear the TC has some sort of a lock up. If you were to turn OD on after 3k rpm in 3rd gear, you will see the TC unlock and the rpms will rise by ~500....

 

If you look in the FSM, on page AT-20, there is a table that shows how the transmission operates... According to it, the torque convertor will lock up in 3rd gear if the OD is turned off and in 4th gear as normal....
