Side mirror removal

How do I remove the side mirror (actual mirror) from the housing? I realize there are some clips but how do I remove it?

I posted an answer on this awhile back. All you need to do is stick a screw driver in at the bottom using a towel to prevent scratching and then lift up, there is be two clips holding the bottom and two more at the top.

So just put it in underneath and pull up or pry?

Pry it up from the bottom first.

I got my chrome mirror covers from sy. Here is an inside pic. It doesn't really have anywhere to screw in screws? Do you know what the stock one looks like? I'm not sure if I got 4th or 5th gen ones?

Anyone know before I start installing?

The service manual states nothing about removing the cover. This is something you are going to have to investigate on your own. Plus I dont think our mirros have a cover that can be removed off the back side. Seems like you got one that might not work. I see a hole on your chrome one there and it seems the hole goes all the way through, our mirrors dont have anything like that.

pry th mirror out, there are 4 screws that hold in the whole motorized servo and remove it, once you get that out of the way, you will be able to see the tabs that hold the cover in. Now its up to you, and I'm thinking that cover will fit, the hole you see, is part of what the servo screws into...i think. But once you remove the guts of the mirror, you will clearly see what you have to do...can't sy help you out?
