Wind noise in cold weather.....2k2
I don't know about you guys but now that it has gotten cold, the wind noise on the highway has really increased. Sounds like its coming form somewhere near the rear of the car. Has anyone experienced this?

Yes - it all happened at once when the weather got cooler. Wind noise increased markedly from the area of the rear side windows and dash clicks and pops started with a vengance. I suspect the wind noise is due to the window/door gaskets becoming less pliable and clicks and rattles are due to poor choice of material/poor workmanship.
Sad reality is that in terms of interior build quality and selection of materials, this car really is a piece of trash. Just look at Nissan's JD Power initial quality numbers - near the bottom of the list. No BS - my 91 Sentra with 211K is only slightly noiser when it comes to squeaks, rattles, and wind noise than my 02 SE.
Compared to other mechanical/design defects discussed on this forum these may seem to be minor issues. However, they adversely affect my whole driving experience -- and that's why I bought this car in the first place. Its not so bad that I'm running out to sell the car, but after 20 years of Nissans, it's probably my last Nissan purchase.

All cars will get noisier in colder weather...its a side effect of all the materials contracting and hardening...contraction makes for a less tight fit and hardening allows materials to transmit sound more efficiently.
Nissan didn't help with their selection of materials and it should be better than it is...my 2k2 Altima and 2k Celica are the same way...sunroof gets alot squeakier too.
