yes that is a silly idea, but you would still be able to see what gear you are in from the instrument panel...

...And how do you install it?
I know you can take off the stock shift **** by unscrewing it, but how does a Momo shifter attach? Screw it back on? And hardware to attach it?
I'm definitely considering getting a Momo Sphere shifter, or something like it, but I'm unsure of actually putting it on.
Thanks!

Now all I need is the money to buy the shifter...some of them run over $80!
A little steep, but it will be my car's b-day in a few weeks, so maybe!
Well, I went ahead and bought this one from:
OBBN Motorsports
Do you think the wood grain will match my Maxima's interior?
Mark Albertson is the owner and the customer service was incredible. He said that if we could agree on stuff on his site that we could get a group deal going, but I'll post the info in the proper forum.

someone in the org is selling the same shift **** for cheaper price. Thus the wood trim on the **** doesn't seem to match the OEM interior.

I will take a pic today. It matches the molded brushed aluminum dash kit exactly.
