need suggestions for lower exhaust tone
need suggestions for lower exhaust tone
i now have a straight pipe between the stock cat and stock muffler. i didn't want to sound ricey but really wanted to get rid of that nasty crimp behind the stock silencer. the sound's not bad but i'd like a deeper tone from the exhaust. i'm thinking i could have any muffler shop weld in a resonator where the stock silencer used to be since it's already set up with heat shields and such. any suggestions? i'm looking for the deepest, smoothest tone possible. i want to stay away from the rough sound of american muscle cars.

A friend of mine took out his resonator this past summer and he hated it. He also had an aftermarket rear section, but the tone wasn't constant or pleasant at times. He hated it so much he ended up getting a custom catback with a Tanabe rear section. I don't know if you feel the same way, but if you want a deeper tone, then get the GReddy. It has a nice constant note to it that's pretty deep. It sounds like you want to replace the resonator after you took it out, and I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble or the money. If not, get a custom system done with a universal rear section. Just my 0.02.
