Changing auto headlight delay - maybe, maybe not...

Updated news on changing the auto headlight settings for the '03 Maximas. Long story short (believe me, it's a lot longer) it's possible the Maxima computer WILL take the changes, because the Auto Light On mode change (per Nissan) doesn't change the DELAY for the headlights, it changes the sensitivity of the light sensor. Or in other words, it probably won't fix the problem of headlights flipping on under overpasses unless you have the sensitivity set really low. When I leave later I'll check to see if the other change (increase power delay) actually took, which means the auto headlights probably did too, it's just not noticeable.

Sure enough - the other change took (the power delay for windows etc. was changed from 45 sec. to 2 min., for no other reason than it cost the same for two changes or one). So it looks like the changes DO work, the auto light changes just don't fix the problem... Oh well, the lights are under warranty for another 34 months.

Auto-headlight on

I found my "auto-headlight on" was not coming on soon enough (my preference) so I took it to the dealer and they adjusted the computer to come on one step sooner than the factory setting. It now comes on a bit sooner. The only thing is the dealer charged me $15 on a 2K2 with only 7,000 miles on it.
