H&R springs

it's been a month since i've had my H&R springs installed and to be quite honest, it hasn't "settled" like everyone said it would. i think the springs dropped the car just over 1" around initially and has stayed the same since. the rear looks okay, but the front is still gappin...

has anyone cut the front springs? pros and cons? cut it half coil? full coil? how does this affect the ride quality?

or is it better just to get some other springs?

you can cut one of the dead coils up front, safely. I have considered this. I have Maxspeeds, which one looks lower ??...

BTW, I love that Chrome !

think your ride looks lower even though the pix are shot at different angles. like i've said before...yours was the first i saw w/ evo5's and gave me the inspiration to get them in chrome. are you gonna plate yours soon?

My friends all give me conflictiong opinions... On Black for sure Chrome is the way to go. On the Pearle, it's tricky. I have a spare wheel, so Im going to send that one in to get dipped, put it on , to see which looks better. If I like it, I will send the other 4 in.

I think mine is maybe 1/4-1/2 inch lower. I have a lot more pics on my homepage. If we get sunny skies tomorrow, Im going to take a lot of PICS, and re - do my homepage.

OT.....but love those rims guys..

damn...your rims make me

I've got HR's as well and noticed the bit of gap that still remains in the front. This annoys me a bit as well but it is normal.

It's okay to go ahead and cut a coil off the fronts but I was told that the ride will get a bit bouncy.

Can anyone verify this?

I am sure that if you cut a coil it is going to mess with your ride at some level. I would just leave it, or get new springs. I think that your best bet for an even drop might be the maxspeeds. If you look at most cars on the road, the back sags slightly.

Irvine78 has done it, with no bouncy effect.
