no no no...use the resistors and your led uses minimal power...if you hook it up to the 12v you'll blow the led!!!

very innovative.
but isn't there still the problem of effectively reattaching the front cover? from those who have opened their housings to remove the amber lense cover, i thought most were having problems with condensation inside? i'd hate to blow hid bulbs to put in the eyes.
if someone can suggest a way of effectively sealing and strongly reattaching the front cover without hot glue all over it, i'd be game.

you still use the 12v line but make sure that each LED has a resistor...read the part about the LED from this guy's DIY

i dont think its condensation....it just looks like it gets cloudy...u can rubb it away, but it comes back in a couple seconds....hmm...i use black silicone w/ masking tape and duct tape when i do headlights...haven't had any condensation in the headlights i've done.....just use a **** load of silicone and press the headlights together TIGHT while someone else tapes it all down....this eliminates the need to "sit on it"....i wonder how well "JB WELD" would work...would you be able to take apart the headlight after jb weld???

You would...but it would most end up as cracked or broken. Can't heat up JB Weld.
