Just ordered Michelin Pilot Sport A/Ss
Damn I'm so broke. Put down $960 for a set. I get them installed tomorrow. I've read lots of good comments here about them. But can you guys tell me more so I don't feel so bad about wasting all this money? I still have a good 4-5 months left on my stock Potenzas too.

How many miles do you have on your Puketenzas? There is nothing to worry about. The ride on your car, even with stock wheels will be vastly improved. If you are anywhere near 30K on those tires, put the Michelins asap. Drive in he rain, then you'll come back and tell u what all the big deal is about. You'll fall in love with your car all over again. Just do it, do it asap.

I've had many cars, therefore I have used lots of different tires. I've never experienced a tire upgrade that I felt made sucha dramatic difference. Put them on as soon as you get your hands on them. Get back to us asap. I just had a blowup on one of mine(blowup, not blow-out). I guess I'll have to tough it out and maybe replace all tires this summer. I'll probably get the Mile Miglias M5. Had considered getting a pair of stock 2K2 wheel/tire combo, but can't really stomach the Potenzas. Get back to us asap once they're on the car.

i had 42,000 on my stock potenzas. i just replaced them this past weekend with pilot a/s 235/50/17. i got them for 850 shipped from www.onlinetires.com. i am so happy with these tires, and the wider tire fills the wheel well better. i wouldn't recommend getting the 235 size if you are dropped.
i was driving from miami back to orlando this past weekend and it started to rain, it was unbelievable how much more steady these tires are. with the potenzas, i had trouble getting from light to light. i had to go really slow or else i'd lose traction.

I love my Pilot Sports. Best upgrade you can make on this car, IMHO. The difference between the Potenzas and the Michelins are very dramatic, especially in the wet.
One thing you might want to watch, though. You are going to be used to the Potenza's non-response to input. You've gotten used to their laziness. The PilotSports are going to suprise you with their immediate response.

2nd after you get'em put on, then tell us if you still think you wasted all that money?
the buying experience for some of us might have been a pain, but i'm very happy with my Pilot's.

Therein lies the rub, man. I'm still waiting for jnovember to respond to my post in another thread, to wit:
How is it that jnovember managed to survive 52k miles with his RE92's living in New Jersey while some people who live in much milder climates and have much fewer miles on their RE92's swear that their tires are out to kill them?

No secret. No magic. 90% highway driving at 65-75mph. Tire pressure kept at 36psi. Checked tire pressure weekly or sooner if significant weather change so tire would never be under-inflated.
